No matter what you decide, it is important to include the child in planning the event (if not a surprise), that you consider the number of chaperons required and the activities that will keep them entertained. Be a Pirate for a day! Invite them to wear the patch, ragged shorts, vivid striped shirts and bandannas tied around their heads. When they arrive draw heavy eye brows and scars on them with an eyebrow pencil. Set black and silver helium balloons on clusters of three around the room. Make a treasure chest from a shoe box and fill it with gold chocolate coins.
