OVER THE HILL BIRTHDAY PARTY
Have some fun with this one for those turning 30, 40, 50 or 60. Be sure to blow up a photo of the guest of honor and drape it in black fabric. For those with a sense of humor, wheel the honoree up to the yacht in a borrowed wheel chair. Here are some other ideas:
INVITATIONS
In addition to a host of off the shelf, “Over the Hill” invitations found at stores, here are a few do it yourself ideas:
- With the invitations send black arm bands for guests in mourning. Ask your guests to wear them to the party
- If it’s a surprise party send a black deflated balloon with invitation that says “You’re Invited…Don’t Blow It”.
ATTIRE
Guests wear black.
DECORATIONS
Decorate the tables with Geritol vitamins, prune juice, adult diapers, ace bandages, false teeth, and copies of ARP magazines.
ACITIVITIES
This is a time for a humorous roasts given in the past tense or a video made up of old year book photos, slides and “eulogies” narrated in advance by some of the guests.
EDIBLES
Top a cake with black frosting with a white RIP tombstone with the guest of honor’s name.
