SURPRISE BIRTHDAY PARTIES

Surprise Birthday Parties in Houston

Surprise Parties are a bit tricky as your invited guests must be sworn to secrecy. Here are some tips to help you pull it off:

  1. PUT IT IN WRITING – put in the invitation your plan for surprising the guest of honor and exactly what the guests are supposed to do in order to help you. Follow up with a phone call and review your plan. Tell them when they are supposed to arrive, where they are to park and when the guest of honor will arrive.
  2. PARKING – spotting their friends and family’s cars in the parking lot is a dead give-a-way! Star Fleet’s parking lot has one way traffic. Have your guests drive PAST the yacht they are to be on, then park.
  3. ARRIVE EARLY – have guests arrive 15 minutes prior to the guest of honor. For example if your cruise departs at 7pm, your guests may board the yacht from 6:30-7pm with the guest of honor arriving at 7:15pm. Nothing will ruin a surprise party more than having the guests arrive at the same time as the birthday girl or boy!
  4. HAVE A GOOD STORY – Plan to go to the Kemah Boardwalk via NASA Parkway then as you cross the Kemah bridge point out Star Fleet marina. “I’ve never noticed that place down there, let’s go check it out.” As you stroll down the dock the Captain invites you in to see the yacht…SURPRISE! Or, treat them to a dinner cruise only to find out as you walk on board that the yacht is filled with friends and family!
  5. COMMUNICATE – RSVPs should always go to your best friend’s phone and email, not yours! Create a “code word” or text message to your friend to signify that the guest of honor is 5 minutes from the yacht so guests may take up their positions once your car has been spotted coming into the marina.
