Engagement Parties

The engagement party is a time to celebrate a couple’s engagement but more importantly it is a time for the two families to meet and get to know each other. Providing a private, comfortable setting aboard the yacht is important so friends and family can relax and enjoy the evening.
Engagement Party – Invitations
For an informal party, run copies of the couple’s engagement photo onto heavy card stock. Then run these sheets through a copier, printing the party invitation on the back. Cut the photo into about 15 irregular pieces to form a jigsaw puzzle. Enclose the pieces in an envelope addressed to each guest. The guests will have to put the puzzle together to read their invitation!
Engagement Party – Ideas
- For a casual engagement party, try a theme like “Escape to the Islands” or “Texas BBQ” depending on which part of the country the families are coming from.
- “Remember When? Party” – collect memorabilia from the couple’s childhood to use as decorations. Baby picture, little league uniforms, awards, trophies, etc…
- Set up a table in the corner and display photos of the engaged couple’s parents and grandparents from their weddings.
- Slide or Video Show – round up old photos of the bride and groom to be and make a presentation in chronological order.
- Depending on the number of guests, you can try games like the “Newlywed Game” or others that would be appropriate for the audience.
