The Galveston Bay Foundation is a nonprofit organization that works to preserve, protect, and enhance the natural resources of the Galveston Bay estuarine system and its tributaries for present users and for posterity through advocacy, conservation, education, and research.
Their mission-driven works takes them, their members, and their volunteers out into the Bay to complete marsh habitat restoration projects, remove hazardous marine debris from waterways, and protect shorelines from coastal erosion.
GBF routinely reviews and comments on permits impacting wetlands, enters the classroom to educate school children about the Bays value, and collaborates with other organizations to advocate for projects on the Bays behalf.
Signature events like Marsh Mania and Bay Day as well as dynamic publications like the Galveston Bay Drive & Discover Guide and the GBF Gazette keep local citizens and communities involved in local and regional topics, events, and activities concerning Galveston Bay.
GBF is committed to addressing emerging issues, fundamental to the continued health and prosperity of our vibrant coastal home, through balanced decision-making and sound science. For more information, please visit www.galvbay.org
